New Vinyl Releases To Watch This Week: August 7, 2026

Steve Lacy - Oh Yeah? (Limited Edition Opaque Gray Vinyl)

Steve Lacy - Oh Yeah? Limited Edition Opaque Gray Vinyl Packshot at Toucan Records

Steve Lacy returns with Oh Yeah?, his third solo album and first full-length release since 2022's Gemini Rights. Written, performed, and produced by Lacy, the ten-track record moves between alternative R&B, psychedelic soul, indie rock, and synth-driven pop while giving guitar and electronic production nearly equal weight. SZA joins the conversational duet "Is It Cool?," Erykah Badu brings a restrained neo-soul presence to "Pure Colour," and Cecile Believe appears on the experimental "Lovesexdrugbomb." Elsewhere, "The Feeling" builds around an inviting pop hook, "Doom" pushes distorted guitars forward, and the nine-minute "Nice Shoes / In Your World" becomes the album's most extended arrangement. This limited edition original pressing features opaque gray vinyl with a printed inner sleeve and double-sided poster.

Sleep Token - Even In Arcadia Instrumental (Limited Edition, 2LP Clear Blue Vinyl, Gatefold & Poster)

Sleep Token - Even In Arcadia Instrumental, Limited Edition, 2LP Clear Blue Vinyl, Gatefold & Poster, Packshot at Toucan RecordsSleep Token revisit Even In Arcadia with a complete instrumental edition that removes Vessel's vocals and brings the album's dense arrangements into sharper focus. Without the vocal melodies in front, tracks such as "Emergence," "Caramel," and "Damocles" reveal more of the interaction between heavy guitars, piano, electronics, percussion, and the quieter passages that shape the record's dramatic shifts. "Look To Windward" stretches beyond seven minutes, while the closing "Infinite Baths" runs past eight, giving the instrumental version plenty of room to emphasize the band's changes in tempo, dynamics, and instrumentation. All ten songs from Sleep Token's fourth album appear here in instrumental form across two clear blue vinyl LPs, housed in a gatefold jacket with a 12 x 24-inch poster.

Role Model - Chuck Timely & The Hourglass (Limited Edition Watermelon Pink Vinyl)

Role Model - Chuck Timely & The Hourglass, Limited Edition Pink Vinyl, Packshot at Toucan Records

Role Model steps into his Chuck Timely persona on Chuck Timely & The Hourglass, a twelve-track third album built around bright folk-pop, country-rock touches, and polished pop arrangements. "High Hopes 3000" supplies one of the record's strongest melodic hooks, "Love I You" includes a spoken cameo from Dakota Johnson, and "Good Thing" and "The Wedding" push the album further into warm guitars, piano, and easygoing choruses. "Song Is All You Get" and "Service Receipt" keep the pacing lively, while "Harmony" gives the album a softer closing stretch. Across the record, acoustic textures, light country influences, and crisp pop production give Role Model more room to vary the arrangements than on his earlier work. This limited edition pressing arrives on opaque watermelon pink vinyl.

The Mountain Goats - Days (Pink Vinyl LP)

The Mountain Goats - Days, Pink Vinyl LP Packshot at Toucan Records

The Mountain Goats return with Days, a twelve-song album that began as a proposed sequel to Goths before expanding into a broader look at music, memory, and several decades of rock culture. "Charlie Sheen Reaches Out to the Feds" drives forward with prominent horns, "Candlebox" adds guest vocals from Matt Nathanson, and "Annie Haslam Imperial Phase" leans into bass, keyboards, and new wave accents. "Going to Fennario" brings Mikaela Davis into the arrangement on harp, while the title track and "Hidden Majesty of Later Venom Albums" slow the pace with piano and layered backing vocals. Produced by John Congleton, Days balances indie rock, folk-rock, and singer-songwriter elements across a varied full-band set. This edition is pressed on pink vinyl.

John Carpenter - Cathedral (1 LP & One 7-Inch Single on Amethyst Purple Colored Vinyl)

John Carpenter - Cathedral, 1 LP & One 7-Inch Single on Amethyst Purple Colored Vinyl, Packshot at Toucan Records

John Carpenter returns to instrumental horror scoring with Cathedral, written with Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies as the musical companion to Carpenter's first original graphic novel (not yet a movie). The trio leans harder into guitar than on much of their recent work, with Davies taking the lead on "Primeval," "Elevator," and the heavy "Lord of the Underground," while synthesizers dominate "Desolation in the Underworld" and "Death of the Mapmaker." Strings enter the mix on "Abandoned Cathedral," and "The Ferryman" and "Revenge" help carry the album through its darker, more cinematic second half. This amethyst vinyl edition includes the full LP plus a bonus 7-inch single with live versions of "Lord of the Underground" and "Last Rites," recorded at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles.
