Yes' twelfth studio album Big Generator arrived on September 28, 1987, during the band's most commercially accessible period. Following the success of 90125, the recording process proved challenging, beginning in Italy before moving to London and ultimately being completed in Los Angeles with producer Paul DeVilliers and guitarist Trevor Rabin at the helm after Trevor Horn's departure. The album finds Yes refining their 1980s sound, blending Jon Anderson's distinctive vocals with Rabin's guitar-driven arrangements, Chris Squire's melodic bass work, and Tony Kaye's keyboard textures. This Rocktober 2025 indie exclusive edition on orange vinyl releases October 17, 2025.

The album showcases Yes balancing progressive complexity with radio-friendly accessibility. "Love Will Find a Way" opens with shimmering production and Anderson's soaring vocals, while "Rhythm of Love" features intricate vocal harmonies and layered arrangements that recall the band's earlier progressive ambitions. "Shoot High, Aim Low" demonstrates the interplay between Anderson and Rabin's vocals over driving rhythms, and deeper cuts like "Almost Like Love" and "Final Eyes" reveal the band's willingness to experiment with contemporary production techniques. The album closer "Holy Lamb (Song for Harmonic Convergence)" takes an unexpected spiritual turn, addressing the synchronized meditation event of August 1987 with atmospheric keyboards and contemplative lyrics.

Pressed on vibrant orange vinyl for Rocktober 2025, this limited edition indie exclusive delivers the album's polished 1980s production with clarity. The pressing captures Squire's distinctive bass tone, Rabin's precise guitar work, Alan White's dynamic drumming, and the synthesizer textures that define the era. This edition offers a fresh way to experience Yes during a period when they successfully merged prog rock credentials with mainstream appeal.
