Tove Lo pushes the emotional contradictions that have long powered her pop writing to the center of Estrus, her sixth studio album. The 13-song set pairs club-driven production with lyrics about desire, identity, self-doubt, family tension, and emotional overload. Written and recorded between Los Angeles, Stockholm, and a fishing village near where she grew up in Sweden, the album continues her mix of blunt confession and high-energy electronic pop.

"I'm your girl right?" turns insecurity and devotion into a tense pop hook, while "des fleurs x Stromae" brings Stromae into the album's world of desire and emotional friction. "DNH" addresses frustration with a messy, drunken friend, and "the bad one" looks back at a damaged relationship without pretending only one person was at fault. "die for my art with a lonely heart" turns self-criticism inward, while "source of life" considers how career, family, and motherhood can pull against each other.
