Summer Walker closes the Over It trilogy with Finally Over It, her third studio album released through LVRN and Interscope Records. The 18-track collection is divided evenly into two parts, For Better and For Worse, which mirrors the album art's wedding theme and alludes to the project's unifying idea: the cynicism that can come from the pursuit of romantic relationships and the choices that are left when love feels impossible. In May 2024, Walker described the album as a journey to self-love, happiness, and femininity, a shift from the introspective concepts surrounding heartbreak and toxic relationships on her previous projects. This 2 LP set on translucent light blue vinyl features an all-star lineup including Chris Brown, 21 Savage, Anderson .Paak, GloRilla, Latto, Bryson Tiller, Brent Faiyaz, Sexyy Red, Mariah the Scientist, and Doja Cat.

The first half showcases Walker's ability to save herself from entanglements that no longer serve her on "Robbed You" and "Situationship," while "No," which interpolates Beyonce's 2003 song "Yes," is about standing firm against one-sided demands. Songs like "Heart of a Woman," "Stitch Me Up" and the title track trace Walker's evolution from clinging to Mr. Wrong to recognizing she's always been the prize, even if that means letting go of love entirely. Walker still leans into her lover-girl ways on "Baby" and "Give Me a Reason," giving second chances on "Heart of a Woman," while "1-800-Heartbreak" croons about her loneliness after the end of a relationship. The second half, For Worse, finds Walker giving up on finding unconditional love, trading the idea of a traditional relationship for one that prioritizes material comforts. She makes her standards clear on the swaggering "Baller," while keeping her walls up even though she might be falling in love on "Stitch Me Up" and "Allegedly."

This 2 LP set on translucent light blue vinyl delivers Walker's most unapologetic project yet across four sides, allowing her confessional R&B storytelling room to breathe. The translucent light blue pressing adds a striking visual element that complements the album's wedding-themed aesthetic. This follows Still Over It, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with 166,000 equivalent units sold. Walker encouraged fans to release emotional baggage alongside the album's release with a symbolic dump truck tour in Atlanta, emphasizing the album's themes of letting go and moving forward. The double LP format preserves the complete arc of Walker's journey from heartbreak to healing, making this a defining statement in contemporary R&B.
