SOJA expands its roots reggae framework through a wide group of guest performers on Without Surrender, the band's first studio album since Beauty in the Silence. Kolohe Kai, The Elovaters, Kabaka Pyramid, Nick Hexum, Iration, Di Ferrero, Hirie, and Maoli each appear across the 14-song program. These collaborations connect American reggae, Hawaiian reggae, Brazilian rock, and Jamaican voices while SOJA remains the central band on every track.

"Highway" opens the album before "We All Need Love" pairs SOJA with Kolohe Kai for a song about empathy, connection, and the needs people share. "Water" brings in The Elovaters, while Kabaka Pyramid joins "World That We're Livin In," a track that addresses environmental damage, inequality, addiction, social pressure, and political neglect. "Catching Up to You" adds Nick Hexum of 311, giving the first half five distinct guest appearances without interrupting the album's established roots reggae direction.

The second half continues the guest-heavy approach through "Whisper" with Iration, "Time Won't Wait" with Brazilian singer Di Ferrero, and "Nothing Lasts Forever" with Hirie. Maoli appears on "Did I Wait Too Long," while "Lion," "Take It Back," "When We Rise," and "Rush" are performed without a featured artist.
