Snow Patrol - Eyes Open [2LP, Special Edition Gold Vinyl]

Snow Patrol expanded the scale of their melodic alternative rock on Eyes Open, pairing intimate relationship writing with choruses that rise from restrained verses into full-band releases. The original 11-song album includes the band's defining hit "Chasing Cars" alongside "You're All I Have," "Shut Your Eyes," and "Open Your Eyes." This 20th Anniversary special edition turns the album into a gold vinyl 2LP with a second disc of associated recordings.

"You're All I Have" opens with urgent guitars and a chorus built around dependence while "Chasing Cars" slows the pace and develops its three-chord progression through a gradual build. "You Could Be Happy" uses a music-box-like arrangement for a quiet farewell, and "Set the Fire to the Third Bar" pairs Gary Lightbody with Martha Wainwright in a long-distance duet. "Open Your Eyes" begins in a restrained form before reaching one of the album's largest closing sections, giving the sequence a forceful late-album peak.

The expanded program gathers all seven B-sides from the album period, the standalone single "Signal Fire," and the rarity "Perfect Little Secret." Gary Lightbody also contributes new sleeve notes reflecting on the album and its legacy. Spread across two gold vinyl LPs, this anniversary edition brings the original record and eight related tracks together in one 19-song sequence.
