Randy Newman - Toy Story 5 [2 LP Picture Discs, Taylor Swift]

Randy Newman returns to the world of Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Jessie with the original score for Disney and Pixar's Toy Story 5. The story introduces Lilypad, a tablet whose ideas about Bonnie's playtime challenge the roles of her familiar toys. Newman's music accompanies that conflict and their return, while Taylor Swift contributes the original song "I Knew It, I Knew You." The soundtrack is issued by Walt Disney Records on two picture disc LPs.

Taylor Swift opens the soundtrack with "I Knew It, I Knew You," an original vocal song written for the film. Newman's "Tech Boom" accompanies the film's technology-centered storyline, while "Bonnie's New E-Friends" names the new companions affecting Bonnie's toys. "Calling Woody" brings the familiar cowboy into the sequence of score cues as the toys respond to changing playtime. "Operation Jessie" names another of the central toys, while "Reunion" and "Happy Landing" identify later developments in the story.

The fifth Toy Story film places the established toys in conflict with a new kind of entertainment for Bonnie. Newman, who wrote music for earlier Toy Story films, composed the original score. Taylor Swift contributes a separate vocal performance of her original song. The four picture-disc sides divide the movie's 27 listed tracks between Swift's song and Newman's instrumental cues.
