1988’s 'Green' is R.E.M.’s sixth studio album. It was a milestone of sorts for the band marking the group’s departure from longtime label I.R.S. Records. It was also R.E.M’s first album to be certified 2x platinum and was the album that broadened and solidified the band’s success across the Atlantic. 

'Green' is an eclectic album featuring the singles 'Stand' and 'Orange Crush' and was certified 2x platinum in the US and 1x platinum in the UK. 'Green' peaked at #12 on the Billboard 200 in the United States. R.E.M.'s sixth album also includes the smash hit 'Pop Song 89' plus songs 'Get Up', 'World Leader Pretend', 'You Are Everything' and more.
