The story follows Nikki, a recovering addict drawn into a revolutionary movement led by Dr. X, while the band's guitars, Geoff Tate's vocals, and dramatic transitions connect individual songs into a single narrative. This 2LP black vinyl record uses the Abbey Road Studios remaster.

"Revolution Calling" introduces Nikki's anger at political corruption with a driving guitar attack and one of the album's most recognizable choruses. "Suite Sister Mary" expands the story into a long-form centerpiece, pairing Geoff Tate with Pamela Moore as Sister Mary and moving between quiet passages, choral sections, and heavier turns. "I Don't Believe in Love" pushes Nikki toward emotional collapse, while "Eyes of a Stranger" closes the narrative with a tense refrain that circles back to his isolation and confusion.

The lyrics follow manipulation, addiction, assassination, religion, guilt, and the collapse of Nikki's belief in Dr. X's cause, giving the Queensrÿche album a complete beginning-to-end storyline rather than a loose concept.
