Definitely Maybe arrived on August 29, 1994, as the debut album from Manchester's Oasis, capturing lightning in a bottle and igniting the Britpop movement. This 2014 remastered edition, pressed on 180-gram black vinyl in a gatefold configuration, was remastered by Ian Cooper at Metropolis Mastering in London. The album went straight to number one in the UK Albums Chart and became the fastest-selling debut album in British music history at the time, selling a record-breaking 86,000 copies in its first week. It has since been certified 9x platinum by the BPI and went on to sell over 15 million copies worldwide.

The album features the singles "Supersonic," "Shakermaker," "Live Forever," and "Cigarettes & Alcohol," along with instant classics like "Rock 'N' Roll Star" and "Slide Away." Noel Gallagher's songwriting combined swagger with vulnerability, channeling influences from The Beatles to the Rolling Stones while creating something distinctly their own. Liam Gallagher's sneer-turned-croon vocal delivery became the voice of a generation, whether declaring aspirations on "Rock 'N' Roll Star" or revealing tenderness on "Slide Away." The album was embraced by critics for its optimistic themes and rejection of the negative outlook of much of the grunge music of the time and is regarded as a cornerstone of the Britpop genre.

The 180-gram black vinyl pressing spreads the 11-track album across two LPs in a gatefold jacket, allowing the layers of guitar and Liam's powerful vocals to come through with presence and punch. The album was produced by Dave Batchelor, Mark Coyle, and Noel Gallagher himself, with additional production and mixing by Owen Morris. The remastered edition brings clarity to the dense wall of sound that defined the original sessions, maintaining the raw energy that made the album a landmark moment in British rock.
