Neil Young - Harvest Moon [2LP, 25th Anniversary Black Vinyl]

Released on November 2, 1992, Harvest Moon was Neil Young's follow-up to Harvest, recorded twenty years after that landmark album with several of the same musicians. Produced by Young and Ben Keith, the ten-track record peaked at No. 16 on the Billboard 200 and received four Grammy nominations. On Reprise Records, it stands as one of Young's most cohesive studio records of the 1990s. The 25th Anniversary Edition, released in 2017, marks the first time Harvest Moon has been pressed on vinyl in North America, newly remastered and presented in a case-wrapped gatefold jacket on standard black 2LP.

The ten tracks are built on acoustic guitar, pedal steel, banjo, and piano, leaning heavily on Young's partnership with Ben Keith. "Unknown Legend" opens the album with a pedal steel-forward arrangement and a narrative lyric rooted in a specific, observed moment. "Harvest Moon," the lead single, is built on a fingerpicked acoustic figure with harmony vocals from Linda Ronstadt and James Taylor. "Natural Beauty" closes the record at nearly ten minutes, the only live recording on the album, captured at the Civic Auditorium in Portland, Oregon.

The 25th Anniversary Edition is presented on standard black vinyl 2LP in a case-wrapped gatefold jacket, newly remastered for this pressing. Ten tracks are sequenced over three music sides, with etched Side D; a non-music side. The release marks the first North American vinyl pressing of Harvest Moon since the album's original 1992 release.
