Created as music for plants and the people caring for them, Mort Garson's Mother Earth's Plantasia turns the Moog synthesizer into a complete miniature garden of melodies. The ten instrumental pieces use bright electronic leads, pulsing bass figures, and compact arrangements tied to specific houseplants. Originally issued in 1976 through an unusual plant-shop and mattress promotion, the album later became one of Garson's best-known electronic works.

"Plantasia" introduces the album with a buoyant theme and softly cycling accompaniment, while "Symphony for a Spider Plant" moves through quicker melodic exchanges. "Baby's Tears Blues" bends blues phrasing into Garson's electronic vocabulary, and "Ode to an African Violet" develops a slower, lyrical line. "Concerto for Philodendron and Pothos" shifts between short motifs before "Swingin' Spathiphyllums" brings a jazzier rhythmic pulse to the second side, contrasting with the gentler "A Mellow Mood for Maidenhair."

This 50th Anniversary edition is the first authorized eco-friendly reissue of the album. It is pressed on 100% recycled green eco-mix vinyl, with each copy carrying its own blend of recycled green shades. The LP is housed in a recycled jacket, printed on recycled paper, wrapped in bio-based shrinkwrap, and includes a full reproduction of the original indoor plant care booklet.
