Miranda Lambert - Crisco [Burnt Leather Colored Vinyl]

Miranda Lambert brings her sharp songwriting and unmistakable Texas country spirit to Crisco, her tenth studio album. Blending hard-won experience with humor, romance, and a little mischief, Lambert explores the complicated emotions and everyday moments that have long fueled her music. Her distinctive voice moves easily between vulnerable storytelling and spirited performances, while the album's polished production introduces a playful retro influence without losing its country foundation.

The album opens with "Snakeskin Boots," featuring rising country artist Ella Langley, and travels through love, heartbreak, determination, and personal reflection. Working with producer Jesse Frasure, Lambert brings a warm, melodic sound to songs that draw from traditional country, contemporary Nashville production, and the country-pop crossover sounds of the late 1970s. Pedal steel, expressive guitar work, strings, and danceable rhythms provide varied musical settings for her storytelling, giving the record a sound that is both familiar and unexpectedly playful.

A particularly notable collaboration is "A Song To Sing," Lambert's duet with Chris Stapleton, which earned Grammy nominations for Best Country Song and Best Country Duo/Group Performance. The album also features Lambert's interpretation of Jim Croce's "I'll Have To Say I Love You In A Song," connecting her songwriting sensibilities with an earlier generation of American popular music. Across its twelve selections, Crisco reveals another side of Lambert's evolving country sound.
