Michael Jackson - Dangerous [2 LP, 180g Black Vinyl]

Michael Jackson brought New Jack Swing into the center of his music on Dangerous, working extensively with producer Teddy Riley following his work with Quincy Jones. Hard-hitting programmed rhythms, funk bass lines, and layered vocals drive much of the album, while Bill Bottrell's contributions bring rock guitars into the mix. Jackson also makes room for gospel-influenced songs and ballads, giving the fourteen-track collection a wide stylistic range.

"Black or White" combines a guitar-driven pop chorus with a message against racial prejudice, while "Remember the Time" uses a New Jack Swing groove for a song about past romance. "Jam" adds a guest rap from Heavy D to its busy percussion, sharp brass accents, and insistent rhythmic vocals. "Give In to Me" turns toward hard rock, with Slash playing guitar beneath Jackson's vocal. These tracks illustrate how Jackson moved between dance, pop, and rock without abandoning the rhythmic approach developed with Riley.

The album also confronts social issues through "Why You Wanna Trip on Me" and the appeal for compassion in "Heal the World." "Will You Be There" draws on gospel traditions, including a choir and spoken passage. The title track returns to the album's New Jack Swing style. This 2LP black vinyl record edition uses two 180g discs and preserves all fourteen songs from the original album.
