Portals, Melanie Martinez's third studio album, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in March 2023 with 142,000 first-week units, her highest-charting album to date. Released on Atlantic Records, the thirteen-track record marked a full creative rebranding, with Martinez retiring her "Cry Baby" alter-ego and adopting an entirely new visual and sonic identity built around themes of rebirth, nature, and the afterlife. Now available as a Limited Edition on Atlantic Records, Portals is pressed on "Bloodshot" translucent vinyl, a clear and pink marbled pressing.

Martinez wrote and produced the entire record, with CJ Baran co-producing on several tracks. "Death," the lead single, reached No. 95 on the Hot 100, her first original song to chart there. "Void," released two days before the album, climbed to No. 61 on the Hot 100. "Evil," the third single, features a harder arrangement than most of what surrounds it. The thirteen tracks move between art pop, synth-pop, and darker experimental arrangements, with "Nymphology" containing a hidden interlude titled "Amulet" beginning at the 3:58 mark.

Pressed on limited "Bloodshot" translucent vinyl, Portals is presented as a standard single LP with thirteen tracks on two sides. The gatefold jacket measures 12x12 and includes a printed inner sleeve. The official pressing note states that color variation between copies is expected, meaning no two records will look exactly the same.
