Matchbox Twenty's third studio album arrived in November 2002, marking a deliberate shift toward harder rock textures and live-band energy. Produced by Matt Serletic, who had helmed the band's previous albums, More Than You Think You Are traded some of the polished sheen of Mad Season for rawer guitar tones and a more organic studio approach. This Rocktober 2023 reissue expands the original 12-track album with five rare bonus tracks spread across two violet colored vinyl LPs.

"Unwell" became the album's breakthrough hit, reaching number one on the Adult Top 40 chart with its piano-driven melody and self-aware lyrics. "Bright Lights" opens with urgent guitar riffs and showcases the heavier direction the band pursued, while "Disease" demonstrates their continued strength with emotional rock ballads. The five bonus tracks included here were previously available only on international editions or as B-sides, making this the most complete version of the album on vinyl.
