Machine Girl have always operated as an inimitable and inventive sonic phenomenon. The newly trio'd group of Matt Stephenson, Sean Kelly, and Lucy Caputi fortify a punk exoskeleton with electronic alchemy and cinematic ambition. Psycho Warrior: MG Ultra X arrives as their seventh full-length LP on orange galaxy vinyl in this Limited Edition Indie Exclusive pressing. Following 2024's MG Ultra, which explored themes of mind control, Psycho Warrior taps into the collective unconscious, with Stephenson drawing inspiration from analytical psychology, Joseph Campbell, and Carl Jung to create a concept album about confronting one's shadow self.
Rave, metal, punk, and pummeling electronic collide and splinter like shrapnel into kaleidoscopic blasts of vibrant color and visceral sound. Lead single "Rabbit Season" transforms conspiracy rabbit holes into a bouncy dance track, while "Come On Baby, Scrape My Data" and "Psychowar" deliver the band's signature digital hardcore fury. The 14-track album spans from the explosive opener "We Don't Give a F*ck" through the intense closer "i-Void Destroyer," featuring a collaboration with Drumcorps on "Dread Architect." Machine Girl's genre-agnostic approach remains in full force, blending breakcore, drum and bass, and footwork into their unmistakable sonic assault.
This 2LP orange galaxy vinyl edition includes printed inner sleeves that complement the album's intense visual aesthetic. The double vinyl format captures the album's intricate production layers, from crushing breakbeats to atmospheric interludes like "Innermission." As a Limited Edition Indie Exclusive pressing, this striking orange galaxy variant makes a powerful addition to any collection focused on boundary-pushing electronic music.
