King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard turn fully toward electronic dance music on Alien Metal, building the album largely with Eurorack modular synthesizers after developing the material through their 2025 rave shows. The eight tracks move through techno, psytrance, breakbeats, jungle, and house rather than the guitar-led rock associated with much of the band's catalog, while vocoder-treated vocals and continuous transitions tie the record together.

Sapience opens with a pulsing electronic groove before the title track pushes further into rave territory, while Superheavy, Supercritical leans toward house with a steadily building synth arrangement. Level 5 shifts into breakbeat and jungle rhythms, using siren-like electronics and harder drum programming to raise the intensity. Rapid Alpha Decay then moves into darker synth passages before Uqt and Atomic Collapse carry the album toward its looping finish through further programmed rhythmic changes.

This vinyl record is pressed on 180g translucent black material made from 100% recycled plastic using injection-mold technology. The LP is housed in a high-gloss jacket and includes a large 18 x 24-inch double-sided poster. A 100% recycled protective overbag completes the package, carrying the recycled-material approach beyond the disc itself and into the outer protection.
