Incubus returned to a more guitar-led attack on 8, the band's eighth studio album, while bringing electronic production into the arrangements through additional production and mixes by Skrillex. The 11-song set moves between riff-heavy alternative rock, polished modern rock, restrained electronic passages, and one instrumental. Brandon Boyd's vocals remain central, while Mike Einziger's guitars carry much of the album's heavier material.

The opening stretch puts the guitars forward: "No Fun" starts with a forceful riff and synth accents, while "Nimble Bastard" uses palm-muted guitar in the verses before opening into a larger chorus. "Loneliest" shifts toward an electronic, R&B-influenced arrangement with programmed rhythm and layered vocals. Later, "Make No Sound in the Digital Forest" removes the lead vocal entirely for an instrumental built from guitar, bass, drums, and electronic effects, giving the second side a noticeably different shape.

This Holland import vinyl record is pressed on 180g black vinyl by Music On Vinyl and includes an insert with the song lyrics. The single-LP configuration places "No Fun" through "Undefeated" on Side A, with "Loneliest" through "Throw Out the Map" on Side B.
