Hot Mulligan push anxiety, humor and explosive singalong choruses through their fourth studio album, The Sound A Body Makes When It's Still. Tades Sanville's strained, emphatic vocals meet Chris Freeman's melodic counterpoints, with Ryan Malicsi's guitars driving the band's emo and pop-punk arrangements. Produced by longtime collaborator Brett Romnes, the record includes the single "And A Big Load" and a guest appearance by Cory Castro of Free Throw.

"And A Big Load" brings the band's loud guitars and urgent vocals to a concise single, while "Island In The Sun" adds guest vocals from Cory Castro of Free Throw. "Moving To Bed Bug Island" opens the album with busy electric guitars and emphatic vocals. "Monica Lewinskibidi" and "Carbon Monoxide Hotel" alternate between confrontational choruses and more exposed passages, and the much shorter "This Makes Me Yummy" runs just over a minute on the 16-song album, sharply contrasting with the longer songs.

Fear and vulnerability run through the songs, with the title drawn from lyrics about paranoia. Brett Romnes produced, engineered and mixed the album at The Barbershop, and Mike Kalajian handled mastering. This indie-exclusive vinyl record is released by Wax Bodega with blue on its A-side and red on its B-side, and is issued as a limited edition for independent record stores.
