Wasting Light arrived in April 2011 with a clear and deliberate statement of intent. Recorded entirely on analog equipment in the garage of Dave Grohl's home in Encino, California, the album stripped away the sonic ambition of its predecessors in favor of raw, unguarded rock energy. The back-to-basics approach paid off immediately, with the record debuting at number one in eight countries and earning three Grammy Awards.

Eleven tracks and no filler. "Rope" drives the album's opening act with coiled, kinetic guitar work that made it an immediate radio staple. "These Days" builds from a brooding verse into one of the band's most anthemic choruses, while "Arlandria" stands as one of the album's most underrated moments, balancing aggression and melody with real precision. Closing track "Walk" became the album's most enduring single, its emotional directness landing in a way that felt genuinely earned.

The 45 RPM format spreads the 11-track program across four sides of two 180-gram LPs, allowing each side a shorter groove length and greater dynamic range. The result is wider separation, more headroom, and a punchy low end that suits the raw garage recording beautifully. The pressing is presented in a gatefold jacket with printed inner sleeves.
