Cream - Disraeli Gears [180g Black Vinyl LP, Stereo]

Cream's second album, Disraeli Gears, brought psychedelic rock into the British trio's blues-based sound. Eric Clapton's guitar, Jack Bruce's bass and lead vocals, and Ginger Baker's drumming shape songs produced by Felix Pappalardi. The band recorded the album in New York, using overdubs and effects while retaining their linked trio interplay. This 180g black vinyl record edition contains the original eleven songs in their familiar sequence.

"Strange Brew" opens with Eric Clapton on lead vocals and a blues guitar line, while "Sunshine Of Your Love" builds around a memorable riff shared by guitar and bass, with Jack Bruce leading the vocals. "Tales Of Brave Ulysses" pairs Clapton's wah-wah guitar with lyrics by Martin Sharp inspired by Greek mythology. "We're Going Wrong" moves at a slower pace, with Bruce singing over Baker's distinctive drum patterns. The contrast among these songs shows how Cream stretched its blues foundation into psychedelia.

Bruce handles most lead singing, while Clapton takes the lead on "Strange Brew" and "Outside Woman Blues." Baker sings "Blue Condition," a song he wrote. The lyrics range from romantic disillusionment to surreal imagery, including the unusual imagery of "SWLABR." Martin Sharp designed the cover and co-wrote "Tales Of Brave Ulysses." This pressing retains the eleven-track album on a 180g vinyl record.
