Charley Crockett's Age Of The Ram closes the Sagebrush Trilogy with a Western story cycle built around Billy McLane, outlaw movement, border-country detail, and Crockett's plainspoken narrative voice. Co-produced with Shooter Jennings, the album connects cowboy ballad writing, honky tonk rhythm, and country-soul touches across 20 recordings. This indie exclusive Mesa White vinyl record uses alternate cover art for a distinct version of the album.
"Lonesome Dove" opens one of the album's clearest windows into Crockett's Western storytelling, while "My Last Drink of Wine" leans into barroom regret and hard-earned self-accounting. "Kentucky Too Long" places confinement and distance at the center of the lyric, and "Fastest Gun Alive" pushes the outlaw theme into a sharper, quicker character piece. "Sweet Mother Texas" and "Low Down Freedom" widen the album's country reach, tying regional identity to songs about escape, consequence, and survival.
The album's 20-song shape matters because Age Of The Ram works as the final chapter of a larger trilogy rather than a standalone batch of country songs. Billy McLane recurs through theme pieces and narrative turns, while Crockett uses drifters, gunmen, drinkers, and travelers to build the record's world. The printed insert adds lyric and credit reference inside the package.
