Altin Gün built their reputation reinterpreting Turkish folk music through a psychedelic rock lens, and Garip is their most focused statement yet. Released February 20, 2026, via ATO Records, the Amsterdam-based quintet's sixth album is a full-length tribute to Neşet Ertaş, a revered Turkish singer and bağlama virtuoso whose folk-bard tradition stretched back centuries. Altin Gün earned a Grammy nomination for Best World Music Album with their 2019 LP Gece, and Garip finds them returning to the Anatolian source with even greater depth.

All ten tracks are Ertaş compositions reimagined through Altin Gün's ever-shifting sonic palette. Lead single "Neredesin Sen" delivers a swirling motorik groove filtered through Turkish folk melody, while "Öldürme Beni" pushes deeper into psychedelic rock territory. "Benim Yarim" brings lush Arabesque string arrangements and saxophone bursts that give the album its widest emotional range. Vocalist and bağlama player Erdinç Ecevit grew up listening to Ertaş through his grandparents' cassettes, and that personal connection is felt throughout.
