"Blitzkrieg Bop" opens with the chant that became their calling card, "Beat on the Brat" drives a heavier repeated riff, and "Judy Is a Punk" compresses two characters and a full chorus into barely more than a minute. "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend" reveals the sweeter pop influence beneath the speed, while "53rd & 3rd" brings Dee Dee Ramone's darker street-level writing to the second side. This limited edition uses the 2016 remaster and places Roberta Bayley's iconic cover photograph on the picture disc, housed in a die-cut sleeve that makes the artwork part of the pressing itself.

Failure return with Location Lost, their seventh studio album and fourth since reuniting, carrying the band's alternative rock and space-rock identity into nine songs shaped by physical recovery, disorientation, and endurance. "The Air's On Fire" grew from Ken Andrews' hallucinations after major back surgery, turning pain and fear into one of the record's most personal moments. "The Rising Skyline" moves from an acoustic opening into a full-band finish, with Hayley Williams of Paramore adding a rare guest vocal, while "Crash Test Delayed" and "Solid State" bring the heavier side of the trio forward. The Horace Silver Quintet - Song For My Father [Blue Note Essential Vinyl Series]
Horace Silver's Song For My Father joins the first wave of Blue Note Essential Vinyl Series releases with one of hard bop's most enduring albums. The title track draws on the Cape Verdean heritage of Silver's father and a bossa nova-influenced rhythm, while Joe Henderson's tenor saxophone gives the melody one of its most recognizable responses. "The Natives Are Restless Tonight" moves with greater urgency, "Calcutta Cutie" brings a lighter rhythmic turn, and "The Kicker" closes the album with a forceful Bobby Hutcherson composition. Recorded across two quintet lineups, the set also documents Silver's transition from Blue Mitchell and Junior Cook to Carmell Jones and Henderson. This 140g pressing is mastered from a high-resolution digital source and arrives alongside the other four companion titles in Blue Note's new entry-level vinyl reissue series.
